Submission Process

Submission Requirements

As part of the submission process, authors are required to confirm that their submission complies with all of the following requirements. Manuscripts that do not meet these requirements may be returned to the authors.

  • The manuscript is an original scholarly work.
  • The manuscript has not been previously published and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
  • The manuscript does not infringe upon any copyrights or other legal or financial rights of third parties and does not give rise to any conflict of interest.
  • The manuscript does not involve ghostwriting or guest authorship.
  • The manuscript complies with the stylistic and bibliographic requirements set out in the Author Guidelines.

The average time to the first editorial decision is approximately four weeks. The average peer-review period is approximately five weeks.

The journal is published annually in April. Consequently, the time between submission and publication depends on the date of submission, and manuscripts submitted closer to the publication date may be scheduled for publication in the following year’s issue.

Manuscripts should be submitted via the Publisphere UW platform. Questions may also be addressed to the Editorial Office at actaalba[at]gmail.com.

The file should be named as follows: surname_ the first two or three words of the article title.

As the journal employs a double-blind peer review process, authors must also submit an anonymized version of the manuscript. All information that could identify the authors, including names, institutional affiliations, funding statements, acknowledgements, and similar identifying details, should be removed from this version.

Along with the text (as an auxiliary file) the following data about the author should be submitted: name and surname, title and academic degree, place of work (university or other institution, department, function, workplace address), e-mail (preferably working address), address for correspondence, scientific specialization, scientific interests and a list of all articles by the author from the last 2 years. By submitting their personal data, the author agrees to make them public, both in print and in electronic form.

The article/review should be accompanied by a Statement (downloadable), which must be signed by the author’s hand.
